We hold many special events for the whole family and our members are very involved in planning and implementing special programs. Each class takes a turn leading Friday night services or doing a special presentation during the year. The holidays bring our community together in celebration and observance. On Chanukah, for example, our resident latke brigade serves up freshly fried latkes, and we have dreidle contests, Chanukah karaoke, and debates about the virtues of sour cream vs. applesauce! We have a newly formed youth choir and will be expanding our music program.

We have been building relationships with various synagogues and educational organizations in Pittsburgh so that we benefit from the offerings of the big city Jewish life as well. In addition, as a member congregation of UAHC, we also benefit from the many services and resources they offer. A teach in about Israel using UAHC materials is in the planning stages. We are proud to have a very dynamic program, with a dedicated teaching staff and the support of our families. And kids actually look forward to coming to school!!
